Westin has options for winch mounting - (2 of 6 in a series)

Previously we mentioned that Westin carries four (4) winch trays. Here is the breakdown; Westin offers two (2) T-MAX front bumper mount winch trays, which we covered in blog 1 of 6), and one (1) T-MAX Hitch Receiver, Cradle Mount Winch Tray. Westin also features MAX Winch Mounting System winch trays that are part of a three (3) step "build it" system that gives the user the option to add a Bull Bar/Light Bar which bolts directly onto the MAX Winch Tray.

In all, Westin Automotive offers T-MAX winch trays for four (4) very different applications and choosing the right one for your needs is essential to the recovery experience. As you all know, winches in general carry quite a bit of weight, so, strength and stability wrapped in a keenly engineered product designed with safety as its priority is a must. Today we'll cover the basics with focus on Universal Winch Mount Trays. Westin carries two (2) Universal Winch Mount Trays; one (1) suitable for most winch mounting surfaces, and one (1) specifically designed for the Jeep Wrangler.

Universal Winch Mount Tray PN# 47-3102

UNIVERSAL WINCH MOUNT TRAYS - Winch PN# 47-3102 offers large front face coverage and therefore provides protection for the winch. The large front face area also provides a sturdy surface for Fairlead mounting. PN# 47-3102 allows for high placement of the 4-way fairlead and clears the bumper completely. When properly mounted, the winch tray and fairlead will have a flush bottom surface.

Jeep Wrangler Universal Winch Mount Tray PN# 46-3104

 

Winch PN# 47-3104 is designed specifically for the Jeep Wrangler. It has a less visibly obstructive front face which allows for a clearer view of the winch. It mounts securely and has dual mount holes on the front face for fairlead mounting as desired, higher or lower. Westin is aggressively marketing to the Jeep enthusiast and has some great product offerings coming out this year. We'll be covering this new product as part of this continued series of blogs.

They both provide for basic winch mounting needs, accommodate most brands of winches and may require some drilling to mount. Westin offers a 3-year warranty on its Winch Mount Trays. Remember, it's all about the recovery! So, be well equipped on the off-road.

I�d like to tell you what great products you have. I have a full compliment of Westin accessories on my truck, from the Sportsman Grille Guard, to the Step Bars and finally the rear Bumper Guards. They installed easy, and look great.

A week ago I was on vacation, traveling along I55 in Mississippi on my way to New Orleans doing about 75 mph (the speed limit is 70!). In front of us, an 18 wheeler lost a 8 foot 2X4 from their truck. It bounced around the highway in front of us, before impacting the front of my truck. The 2x4 shattered against the Westin Grille Guard, breaking into hundreds of pieces, not all small. Some of it even found its way inside my open windows. Not being hurt, we drove to the next rest area and inspected the truck for damage. To our delight, there was none. Little bits stuck into the guard and front end, and a small disturbance of the dirt on the hood, but no other problems found.

Not only do I believe your products saved the front end of my truck (the lights, grill and off road lights) but I also believe that your product saved myself and my passenger from great harm.
